A new trial booking system requiring real-name registration has commenced for the popular Po Pin Chau hiking route in Sai Kung, Hong Kong. Managed by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the policy caps daily visitor numbers at 2,000 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on selected days. On the first day of implementation, hundreds of hikers braved hot weather to visit the scenic area, renowned for its distinctive hexagonal rock formations. While the measures aim to manage crowd sizes and protect the environment, several visitors have called on authorities to loosen the restrictions, arguing that the registration process reduces accessibility to the natural site.
