During a meeting in Washington, Japanese Trade and Industry Minister Ryosei Akazawa and US officials, including Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, agreed to uphold the terms of their bilateral trade pact established last year. Both nations pledged to deepen collaboration on investments within strategic industries. Despite shifts in President Donald Trump's tariff strategies, Akazawa confirmed to reporters on Friday that the existing trade agreement remains fully in effect and unaltered.
