Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, stated during a sermon that Iran is currently confronting a comprehensive hybrid war encompassing military, economic, media, and cultural dimensions. Khatami condemned foreign military operations, arguing that US President Donald Trump has repeatedly violated established international rules of warfare. He pointed to civilian casualties, specifically referencing reported strikes on a school that resulted in the deaths of 168 children, as well as attacks on athletes and wedding gatherings. Commending the performance of Iran’s armed forces in defending the country, the cleric asserted that economic measures aimed at isolating Tehran would not succeed. Furthermore, Khatami noted that economic hostility has persisted since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, functioning alongside media misinformation and cultural challenges directed at the nation's political establishment.
