Kau Kee Food Factory, a veteran Hong Kong manufacturer that has produced fish balls for 66 years, has transitioned into the direct consumer market by launching its first retail shop. For decades, the enterprise functioned strictly as a wholesale supplier, distributing its products to roughly 1,000 street food stalls and dining establishments throughout the city. Second-generation proprietor Anita Lee Yan-kwan, who grew up around the family enterprise, spearheaded the decision to open the brand's debut storefront late last year, introducing the factory's signature offerings directly to the public after generations of behind-the-scenes operations.
