A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck along the national highway in Valencia City, Bukidnon, early on Saturday morning. According to local police, the incident happened around 3:00 a.m. near a private hospital when the victim attempted to cross the road and was hit by a Nissan Navara traveling toward the city center. Although the pedestrian was quickly taken to the adjacent medical facility, doctors pronounced him dead shortly after arrival. Investigators are working to confirm the identity of the deceased, while the 39-year-old motorist and his vehicle have been taken into police custody. In the wake of the collision, city police leadership stated that law enforcement personnel will intensify traffic rule enforcement and set up random roadside checkpoints to enhance transit safety.
