Following a devastating glacial collapse on August 26, emergency teams in Nepal are continuing search and rescue operations for missing individuals. The efforts gained momentum after two hydropower employees were successfully rescued from a blocked tunnel after being trapped for nine days. The disaster, which destroyed at least twelve hydropower facilities, has claimed 1,325 lives across Nepal and China, with over 5,500 people still missing. International experts from India, China, Australia, and South Korea are assisting local authorities. Due to overwhelmed morgues, officials have buried over 1,000 victims in mass graves after collecting DNA samples. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Balendra Shah has pledged to secure proper housing for the thousands of displaced citizens currently residing in temporary shelters.
