An explosion at a military installation in the western Bolivian town of Viacha has resulted in at least ten deaths and left 62 others injured. According to local officials, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. within a barracks utilized for storing pyrotechnic materials. While an official investigation into the cause of the blast is still underway, authorities indicated that the detonation originated from a fireworks stockpile belonging to the country's defense ministry. Local health officials warned that the casualty count could still change as emergency services respond.
