Residents and religious leaders in the southern Iranian coastal town of Kuhestak gathered for the funerals of five civilians killed during a recent US airstrike. The strike hit a residential home hosting a wedding celebration, injuring nearly 70 others. Among the deceased was a four-year-old boy, whose death has sparked widespread grief and social media attention in Iran. While the United States military stated that its operations in the region targeted military infrastructure and that it is investigating the incident, an independent analysis by Reuters indicated the destruction was likely caused by a direct hit from a US 500-pound bomb. The tragedy has renewed international concerns regarding civilian casualties resulting from the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
