Erik Solheim, head of the United Nations Environment Programme, highlighted China's potential to resolve its environmental challenges and serve as a global model. The advisory group drafted a proposal recommending a 15-year anti-pollution strategy focused on cost-effectiveness and public trust, aiming for implementation before 2020 to align with the country's 2035 modernization targets. Additionally, the council advocated for fair competition and incentives to support green industries. The finalized recommendations will be submitted to the State Council.
