Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte posted bail on Saturday after a Quezon City court issued an arrest warrant against her. The warrant involves three counts of grave threats concerning alleged statements directed at President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Duterte's legal team advised her to pay the bail, set at 120,000 pesos per count, arguing that remaining in civilian spaces would be safer than being held in police custody. Upon posting bail at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, Duterte expressed deep concern for her personal safety and that of her family, claiming she has faced administration pressure and harassment since 2023.
