According to an analysis by Sazandegi, China chose not to endorse a recent G20 statement concerning maritime security. Although the G20 summit was intended to address global economic matters, debates surrounding the Strait of Hormuz highlighted deep geopolitical divisions among the participating world powers. While the majority of G20 member states insisted on the critical importance of maintaining secure and unrestricted navigation through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, Beijing ultimately refused to sign off on this specific position.
