Tesla has showcased a new version of its Roadster featuring SpaceX-developed thrusters at a facility in Texas. During the presentation, the vehicle performed aerial maneuvers, including jumps and barrel rolls. CEO Elon Musk indicated that the company aims for a commercial release by 2028, though he acknowledged potential regulatory hurdles regarding the car's legality on public streets. While the prototype demonstrated the ability to accelerate to 60 mph in one second and reach top speeds of 230 mph, specific details regarding final pricing and battery capacity remain undisclosed. The event was attended by long-term reservation holders who had placed significant deposits nearly a decade ago. Industry analysts noted that transitioning such advanced technology from a private demonstration to a street-legal consumer vehicle presents substantial engineering and legal challenges that the company must still address before the projected launch date.
