The Parliamentary Hearing Committee in Kathmandu has formally requested additional documentation to investigate grievances lodged against Giri Bahadur Sunar, the government's nominee for ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Lawmakers intend to verify claims regarding Sunar's past conduct. Specifically, the committee is seeking clarification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning allegations that Sunar was previously deported from Germany due to concerns over his moral character. Furthermore, the committee has directed the Lalitpur Police to provide records pertaining to a separate complaint involving an extramarital affair, which was reportedly resolved through a reconciliation agreement. These investigative steps are part of the committee's due diligence process before finalizing their decision on his diplomatic appointment.
